Family Discipleship Minister

As elders, we pray for a church that equips the building of faith in the home.

Deuteronomy 6:4 talks of living our faith in every moment of the day and specifically mentions family and the home. We want future generations to know the love of God and to follow the ways of Jesus. As Christians, each of us is invested in this goal.

As a way of recognizing both the work that has already been happening and encouraging and plainly stating a stronger vision for family discipleship, the elders are changing Jon Micah Richardson’s title to Family Discipleship Minister.

He and Stan Wilson, our Minister of Christian Formation, have worked for several years to guide and encourage discipleship, from planning events to providing resources and teaching. Stan will continue to work in teaching and education and now oversee Small Groups, further defining his important role.

Likewise, Jon Micah’s role is now better defined and focuses on family discipleship, specifically partnering with Student Ministry, led by William Murphy and Hailey Parrott, and Kids’ Ministry, led by Megan Lawson. We are blessed to have someone like Jon who is passionate about families in all our discussions and planning.
