New Deacons

A Message From the Elders

[su_vimeo url=”″ width=”1280″ height=”720″ autoplay=”no”]

Thank you to all of you, the entire congregation, for the words of encouragement, feedback, and positive attitudes.

Thank you to our ministers and staff who are working so hard to execute the mission of this church.

And thank you to our deacons who are vital in being able to do the work that God has called us to do. The needs in our community and within this church continue to grow and the elders have recognized that we need more individuals to lead these efforts.

To this end, the shepherds are excited to put before you the names of 11 men that we are submitting as deacons. These men were chosen based upon the Biblical criteria for deacons, as well as the consistent work each of them currently do within this body.

Billy Bass (communion to shut-ins), Troy Bishop (7:45am worship gathering), Jeff Castle (Prison Ministry), Steve Castle (audio/visual), John Johnson (communion), Keith Lewis (upcoming new member orientation), Justin Moore (local outreach), Brad Mutchler (Singles Ministry), Anthony Peden (audio/visual), Owen Slaughter (local outreach), Kevin Walker (Welcome Team)

We ask that you prayerfully consider these men while also praying for them and for their families. We would like to officially appoint them on Sunday, September 30.

The elders do not feel that this is the end of a process, but rather the beginning. As we pray for opportunities to serve this community and our church family, we are continually looking at current and new ministries and will be appointing additional leaders as needed. We want to make announcements such as this more frequently so that we are equipping our church to fulfill the great commission.

Thank you again for your support, and continue to be in prayer for the church here in Hendersonville and around the world.
